Surrounded by beautiful hills, the walking paths are many and varied ranging from easy stretches for the beginners to more demanding hikes for the more advanced walkers. Within a few miles of Moffat, you can also find the famous waterfall, the Grey Mare's Tail. Created during the last ice age as an outlet for Loch Skene it has a fall height of around 300 feet.
